The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch until 9 p.m. Saturday, April 24, for 41 Kentucky counties, including Marion County.
The weather service is warning that low and mid-level winds will increase as a result of a surface low. This could create conditions favorable for one or more lines of intense storms and rotating supercells, which could produce tornadoes.
Wind damage, large hail, heavy rain and cloud-to-ground lightning are also likely, according to the weather service.
