Truth and Consequences

-A A +A
By Stephen Lega

A number of local organizations worked together to give local high school students a taste of “real life” during the Truth and Consequences event held April 16 at the Marion County Judicial Center. Students received a scenario in which they were found in violation of the law, and then learned the potential consequences of that action. For some it meant meeting with counselors, law enforcement or school officials. For others, it meant understanding the side effects of taking medication from a pharmacist or visiting with a minister. And for still others, it meant entering the justice systems where their case could lead them to juvenile justice, court or possibly jail.
