Marion County High School has two players that are getting the attention of the Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association (KVCA) and possibly college scouts.
Seniors Shelby Mattingly and Shakyra Young are on the KVCA list, which was started last season. Last season, Marion County's Shelby Howard was on the list.
"All of these players are ones who could be eligible for scholarships but it is also to help college coaches identify the best players in the area," Marion County Volleyball Head Coach David Hibbard said. "Both Shelby and Shakyra would like to play in college, though neither one knows where yet. The list is simply an honor for our young ladies to be recognized by coaches in our region as significant impact players."
Both players are featured players in the Fifth Region. Other teams in the region featuring players include Green County, Nelson County, Central Hardin, LaRue County, Bethlehem, John Hardin, Elizabethtown and Washington County.
