Marion County's social host ordinance has been on the books for nearly four years and in that time not one person has been cited for violating the law. Nevertheless, local officials and supporters of the law believe it is making a difference.
Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Clements said he thinks the community's tolerance for underage drinking has gone down, but he believes the social host ordinance also serves as a deterrent.
