The Color in Motion 5K is gearing up for a fun-filled run on May 11 at Graham Memorial Park in Lebanon. Even if someone is planning to run the 5k, there are still plenty of opportunities available for them to volunteer. And volunteers are what make this run happen, so everyone is encouraged to chip in, even if it’s just for an hour or two.
While moral support is greatly appreciated, volunteers need to be at least 16 years old to help on-site. All volunteers are required to have fun! Opportunities to help include:
• Thursday night: packet stuffing
• Friday morning/night: packet pick-up
• Saturday morning/afternoon: help with the race from handing out water to monitoring the course to throwing color to cheering loudly
Color in Motion 5K event directors say that participants can run the race and volunteer the day of the event. Due to the high volume of registrants, the run will be done in waves every 10 minutes. That means that depending on when the runner’s wave departs, they can choose to volunteer either before or after their wave runs. It takes a lot of people to make an event like this happen, so registrants are encouraged to volunteer if they can.
The Color in Motion 5K is excited to announce it will be supporting multiple charities in Kentucky including the Lane Goodwin Child Cancer Foundation, Active Heroes, Girls on the Run and NC4K. Donations upon check-in/registration are also accepted, and Color in Motion 5K will match all donations.
Volunteers can sign up today at http://colorinmotion5k.com/volunteer/Kentucky. And if you want to run the 5K on Saturday, May 11, sign up at http://colorinmotion5k.com/Kentucky. They run different coupons and special rates all the time, so stay tuned to the Lebanon, KY Facebook page for updates.
