Carla Wagner has been hired as the administrative assistant for the Lebanon Tourist and Con-vention Commission bureau. Wagner is replacing Nena Tharp, who is now assistant director for the Elizabethtown Tourism and Convention Bureau.
“Nena’s contributions to the success of our organization are immeasurable and she will always be missed,” said LTCC Executive Director Chris Hamilton. “Over the past few months, Carla has shown that she is a most worthy replacement. She has picked up a great deal of knowledge rather quickly and is already making significant contributions. She is a wonderful addition to our staff.”
Wagner was chosen from more than 130 applicants.
She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., but lived most of her youth in the Netherlands. She graduated from The Hogeschool for the Arts at Utrecht with a bachelor of arts degree in architectural design in 1994, and moved to Lebanon in 1999.
Wagner built the St. Augustine Extended Care Program and has been the aquatics programs supervisor at the Lebanon Aquatic Center since 2008. She has two sons, G.J. and Carl, and her civic work includes Habitat for Humanity, American Red Cross disaster relief and the United Concerned Citizens Organization annual outreach program.
She is a member of the St. Augustine Parish Council and was chair of the 2010 St. Augustine Turkey Social.
