Last week, hundreds of young Latter Day Saints got a taste of what it was like for the Mormon pioneers who trekked from Illinois to Utah in the 1840s.
The youth spent much of the day Thursday pulling handcarts over uneven ground on the Raikes’ farm outside Bradfordsville. After camping out that evening, they pulled their carts into town Friday morning, where they did some community service, including repainting curbs and basketball poles and cleaning up at the old school and the park.
