Walk? Run? Bike? Heart of Kentucky Hike & Bike is Saturday

-A A +A

Featuring a choice of 5K road race or 10K bike ride, the Heart of Kentucky Hike & Bike is designed to get everybody energized for spring this Saturday, April 16, in Lebanon.

The 5K is open to serious competitors, joggers, walkers and families. The 10K bike ride is just for fun but the scenery is great and the route meanders past the Lebanon National Cemetery.

The paved course is mainly flat but it has a lengthy incline at one portion, a small hill at the end and a portion of the 5K runs through the South Lebanon Industrial Park. It is well marked and begins and ends at Graham Memorial Park.

Times are given at the 1- and 2-mile marks, a water station is available at the 2-mile mark and water and fruit are available at the finish line. There is traffic control and the Marion County EMS follows the 5K.

Parents must accompany their children throughout the event and all bike ride participants must wear a helmet. Numerous awards and door prizes are given out at the conclusion. Go to VisitLebanonKy.com for details.

Participants can register online at VisitLebanonKy.com or by mail or in person at the Lebanon Tourist & Convention Commission office, 239 N. Spalding Ave. Ste. 200, Lebanon KY 40033.
