A wind advisory is in effect for central Kentucky, including Marion County, until 10 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, according to the National Weather Service.
Sustained winds of 15-25 can be expected this afternoon and evening with gusts up to 40 miles per hour. According to the weather service, vehicles with high profiles traveling on east to west highways will be most affected by southerly wind gusts. Outdoor furniture and other unsecured objects may be blown by the wind.
After 10 p.m., thunderstorms may move into the area. These storms will be capable of producing winds up to 60 miles per hour and could potentially scattered tornadoes. Heavy rainfall (between one and two inches) is likely.
More scattered storms are possible later in the week.
