Jan. 20, 2009, will be a historic day in the United States of America when our first African-American President is sworn into office. Some people said this day would never come. Well, it's here. Some of those same people probably never thought they would see a woman run for President or Vice President of the United States, let alone assume leadership positions such as Speaker of the House or Secretary of State. At the local level, many people probably never thought they would see three females sitting on the Lebanon City Council.
