    Blessing of animals
    The annual blessing of animals will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52 in Loretto on Oct. 4. This is the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, known as a protector of animals and the patron saint of our parish. Pastor Fr. Bryan Lamberson will bless all animals brought to the west lawn of the parish at 6 p.m. on Oct. 4. Pets should be on a leash or crated. Livestock should be in an enclosed trailer.

    Julie Carrick, Catholic recording artist and radio personality is coming to St. Augustine Catholic Church for a “catechetical artistry” mission event at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. today, Aug. 30. All are welcome to attend either event, no tickets are required. There will be a free will offering to support Carrick’s non-profit which supports her work and the work of other artists who are making the same type of events available in other parish communities.
