    Bible school
    Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Gravel Switch will have their Vacation Bible School June 20-22 from 6-8:30 p.m. nightly and Sunday, June 24, at 11 a.m. during the morning worship service.     Gospel concert
    The 2012 Rosenwald Reunion Committee will be holding a gospel concert at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the First Baptist Church located on Depot Street. Featured singers will be the voices of First Baptist Church of Lebanon, Johnson Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Josephine Sickles of Springfield, Smith Sisters of Campbellsville, William P. Dunigan of Frankfort and several others.

    First Christian Church on N. Depot Street will be having a Father’s Day Banquet from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at St. Augustine Parish Hall. Danny L. Percell will be guest speaker.   • Church needs weatherization help

    Bethel Star Apostolic Church in Lebanon is looking for assistance. The church is in the process of remodeling as a result of weather damage, and it needs to work quickly to prevent further damage.
    The church has already started working toward its goal of $30,000, but it has tentatively scheduled a special service at 5 p.m. July 22 at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
    Anyone who is unable to attend the service can send a donation to Pastor Elder Michael Johnson Sr., 603 Golf View Terrace, Lebanon, KY 40033.

  • Charities and local Catholic churches sponsor free household electronic waste recycling in time for World Environment Day

    Catholic Charities of Louisville, Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, and Nelson County are sponsoring a recycling drive with 2trg, a certified electronics recycler, to accept unwanted electronic waste (e-waste) from the local community at St. Joseph Elementary School in Bardstown on Saturday, June 2, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The school is located at 320 West Stephen Foster Ave., Bardstown, KY 40004. A convenient drive-through drop-off station will be available in the school parking lot.

    Bass tournament
    Woodlawn Baptist will be hosting a free bass tournament on Saturday, May 26 from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. at Fagan Branch Reservoir. You must have a boat to fish. Registration will open at the ramp at 6:15 a.m. There are cash prizes for the top three weights, and also for biggest bass. Any questions, please call the church office at (270) 692-4825.
