    Contemplative Prayer Day
    St. Catharine Motherhouse (Hwy #150 west of Springfield) will hold its monthly Contemplative Prayer Day from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday,  March 19. The day includes centering prayer, meditative walks, silence, a presentation on “Mysticism as Growth in Human Consciousness” by Sr. Marilyn King, RSM  discussion on the presentation, personal prayer and a blessing. Bring bag lunch.  Drinks provided.

    ‘Prayer Fair’
    The Sanctuary of Lebanon United Methodist Church will be open from 9 a.m. to midnight on Friday, March 4 for a ‘Prayer Fair”.  Various prayer stations will be set up around the Sanctuary to help you focus your prayers, and hosts will be present to answer any questions you might have.  The entire community is invited to come out and pray. You can stay an hour or a minute. Lebanon United Methodist Church is located at 236 North Spalding Avenue.

  • Prison, jail ministry led to the diaconate

    Dennis A. May, who was ordained a deacon Feb. 19 at St. Augustine Church, felt called to the diaconate after he started ministering to prisoners in Marion County.
    His ministry in local jails and prisons began about nine years ago when someone he knew was arrested. He discovered that Catholic inmates weren’t receiving the Eucharist or any other form of Catholic ministry.

    The United Presbyterian Church in Lebanon (beside the Marion County Public Library) will be hosting a Dave Ramsey “Financial Peace University” class at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 27. The class is free. For more information, contact Amy Bland at (859) 494-0526.

    Dr. James Jones will hold revival at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, through Wednesday, March 2, at Lebanon Baptist Church.
    The community is invited to a daily luncheon at noon.
