    New Beginnings Community Church has welcomed a new paster, Stacey Wilson, and his wife, Debbie, to their church. New Beginnings’ goals is to help everyone become accepted to the body of Christ and be part of a church family.

    Prayer Day
    The monthly Contemplative Prayer Day at St. Catharine Motherhouse will be on Nov. 17, 2012, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The day includes several sessions of centering prayer, meditative walks, silence, a presentation on Thomas Merton’s Spirituality and Prayer by Father James Connor, OCSO from the Trappist Monastery, discussion on the topic, a tea meditation, a sharing about the day, and a blessing.   • SCC to host ‘Catholics at the Capitol’

    St. Catharine College will host “Catholics at the Capitol” Saturday Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Pettus Auditorium in the Richard S. Hamilton Health and Science Building. Catholics and other concerned citizens are invited to the event, which will address the Catholic position of key issues coming before the Kentucky General Assembly and the Catholic social teachings and values underlying these positions.

Times will be as follows: 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 4; 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 5; 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6; 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 7. There will be special singing.
