Marion countians attend state FFA convention

The Marion County FFA traveled to Rupp Arena in Lexington from June 7-9 for the 82nd annual Kentucky State FFA Convention. While there, the chapter received numerous recognitions and awards including:
- Gold Emblem Chapter - selected as one of the 14 best FFA chapters in the state and will advance to National competition
- Top 10 You Tube Video entitled “Kentucky Farmers Care”

Registration opens for Kentucky Grazing School

The second installment of the 2011 Kentucky Grazing School will be held Aug. 15-16 at the Woodford County office of the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service and the C. Oran Little Research Center in Versailles.
Preregistration is necessary, as the school is limited to the first 45 applicants.

Miracle attends IFAL conference in Lexington

Marion County high school student Jason Miracle recently returned home from Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Institute for Future Agricultural Leaders (IFAL).
Miracle and 43 other high school students from around the state attended the five-day summer leadership conference, held June 20-24 at the University of Kentucky.
An identical IFAL conference was also held June 13-17 at Murray State University for an additional 45 students.
