  • 12-17-14 Birth announcement

     

    Rebecca S. Hubbard and Travis S. Calhoun of Lebanon announce the birth of an 8-pound, 10-ounce daughter, Paisley Sentell Hubbard, born Oct. 30, 2014 at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon.
    Maternal grandparents are Susan Hubbard and David Clarkson.
    Paisley Sentell has a brother, Peyton Young.
     

  • Tharp and Smith exchange vows

     

    Ashley Tharp, the daughter of James and Angela VanBuskirk of Indianapolis, Ind. and Hunter Smith, the son of DeWayne and Michelle Rakes of Lebanon were married at 4:30 p.m. May 31, 2014, at The Nott Estate, Reelsville, Ind. Pastor Timothy Duke officiated.
    Caressa Easton served as maid of honor. Katelyn Duke was a bridesmaid.
    Levi Smith served as best man. Dakota Rakes was a groomsman.
    After a honeymoon trip to Captiva Islands, the couple is making their home in Greenwood, Ind.

  • Friends of the Library working on barn quilt project

    The Friends of the Library is continuing to work on the barn quilt project that it started Oct. 1. The barn quilt will hang on the N. Harrison Street side of the Marion County Public Library. The design is a book shelf with book spines, which will contain names, “in memory of” sentiments, business names, etc. A donation of $25 to $100 determines the size of your book spine. All funds from this project go toward the construction of a reading garden that will be built on the E. Main Street side of the library.

    Monday, Dec. 15: Herb baked chicken, potatoes with carrots, green peas, butterscotch pudding, cornbread.
    Tuesday, Dec. 16: Baked pork chops, buttered corn, green beans, mandarin oranges, whole wheat roll.
    Wednesday, Dec. 17: Beef Swiss steak, wild rice with apricots, buttered carrots, strawberries/bananas, whole wheat roll.
    Thursday, Dec. 18: Closed.
    Friday, Dec. 19: Salmon croquettes, rigatoni and tomatoes, buttered broccoli, banana pudding, whole wheat roll.
    All meals served with skim milk.

    Adam and Ashley Knopp of Lebanon announce the birth of a 6-pound, 6-ounce daughter,  Anna Caroline Knopp, born Dec. 1, 2014, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
    Maternal grandparents are John and Ann Thompson of Lebanon. Paternal grandparents are Donald and Karen Knopp of Finley. Great-grandparents are Robert and Lucy Craig of Lebanon, Sam and Helen Knopp of Lebanon, Conrad and Arlene Thompson, Kenneth Barnett and the late Bonnie Barnett, and the late Bill and Hettie Ryan.
