Dominican Sister of Peace Claire McGowan from Springfield was awarded the 2015 Friend of Community Development award from the Community Development Society, an international organization of educators and practitioners. The award recognizes her exemplary work in environmental sustainability, citizen participation, high visibility and advancing the community development field.
Evelyn Danielle Lucas turned two years old on Aug. 5, 2015. She is the daughter of Daniel and Tracy Heistand Lucas of Knifley.
Her grandparents are Sue and Ronnie Clarkston of Knifley and Thomas Heistand of Lebanon and the late Evelyn “Deanie” Heistand.

The Lyvers-Simpson family reunion will take place at 4 p.m. Sept. 12 at Phillip Lyvers farm on Hagans Schoolhouse Road, which is off Loretto Road in Marion County. Robbie and Lisa Alford of Calvary announce the adoption of their son, Joshua Dane Alford, born June 26, 2015 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces.
Grandparents are Edd and Judy Alford of Loretto, Lavenia Mattingly of Loretto and Linda Ford of Calvary.
Joshua was welcome home on July 4 by family and friends.
