  • Couple will celebrate 50th anniversary

     

    Mr. and Mrs. David Mattingly will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 20, 2015. They were married on that date 50 years ago at Holy Name of Mary Church in Calvary. They are now members of St. Charles Church.
    Mr. Mattingly is a retired farmer. Mrs. Mattingly is the former Rita Thomas and is retired from Marion County Farm Bureau.
    They have four children, John, Marty, and David Mattingly, and Beth Lang; and 14 grandchildren.
    A family cruise is planned for later in the spring.

    Chris and Crystal Spalding of Lebanon announce the birth of a 7-pound, 13-ounce son, Calvin Glen Spalding, born Jan. 21, 2015 at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon.
    Maternal grandparents are Billy and Joyce Warner of Lebanon. Paternal grandparents are Cecelia Spalding of Lebanon and the late John A. Spalding.
    Calvin Glen has a brother, Collin, and two sisters, Madelynn and Cheyenne.

    Collin Spalding will celebrate his 4th birthday on Feb. 11, 2015. He is the son of Chris and Crystal Spalding.
    His grandparents are Billy and Joyce Warner and Cecilia Spalding and the late John A. Spalding.
    Collin has a brother, Calvin, and two sisters, Madelynn and Cheyenne.

    Maternal grandparents are Mark and Debby Mattingly of Lebanon. Paternal grandparents are Tom Dooley and Marie Wright of Lebanon. Great-grandparents are Fred and Faye Browning, Joe and Pat Mealey, and Ralph and Margaret Wright.

    Joe David and Jenna Smith of Springfield announce the birth of a 6-pound, 13-ounce son, Joseph Eli Smith, born Jan. 5, 2015 at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon.
    Maternal grandparents are Carl and Edna Mattingly of Lebanon. Paternal grandparents are Linda and Charlie Smith of Springfield.

    Wednesday, Jan. 28: Turkey w/gravy, mashed potatoes, buttered broccoli, Angel Food cake w/strawberry topping, whole wheat bread, dry roasted peanuts.
    Thursday, Jan. 29: Closed.
    Friday, Jan. 30: Baked boneless barbecue chicken, pinto beans, turnip greens, cheesecake pudding, cornbread.

  • Brownings will celebrate 65 years

     

    Mr. and Mrs. James Samuel Browning Sr. will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with a Mass at St. Charles Catholic Church on Jan. 25, 2015.
    They were married at St. Francis Catholic Church on Jan. 28, 1950. A private reception will be held at their home.
    Mrs. Browning is the former Cynthia Hayden. The couple have five children: Sam Browning Jr., Peggy Browning Burke, Rita Browning, Annette Browning  
    Robinson, and Gary Browning; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
