Eric and Cassie Downs of Loretto announce the birth of a 7-pound, 6-ounce daughter, Ava Ann Downs, born Aug. 3, 2011, at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon.
Maternal grandparents are Frankie and Donna Hutchins of Lebanon.
Paternal grandparents are Curtis and Irene Downs of Loretto.
Great-grandparents are JoAnn and Charles Owen Smith of Lebanon and Marvin Hutchins and Nick and Ann Bickett, all of Loretto.
Ava Ann has one brother, Caleb.
Gary and Becky Graves of Bardstown announces the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Jessica Amber, to Brock Paul Miles, son of Andy and Brenda Miles of St. Francis.
Graves is employed at Spring View Clinic in Springfield.
Miles is employed at Heaven Hill in Bardstown.
The wedding is set for 7 p.m. Sept. 23, 2011, in St. Francis. A reception will follow the ceremony at the Loretto Activity Center.

C.W. and Shirley Farmer of Jessietown will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 17, 2011. They celebrated earlier in the year with their family in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. They have two daughters, Debbie Thomas and Karen Gootee, and one son, Brad Farmer. They also have 5 grandchildren.
The descendants of Joseph (Doll) and James Caldwell, formerly of Calvary, united for a reunion Saturday, Aug. 20, at the home of William T. Caldwell in Louisville. Attending were people from Lebanon, Calvary, Loretto, Shelbyville, Louisville and Chicago, Ill.
