  • Wilcher turns 90

    Elmer Wilcher will celebrate his 90th birthday with a party on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 7165 Liberty Road in Bradfordsville.
    Friends and relatives are invited to stop by between 2 and 4 p.m. to share cake, ice cream and memories.
    Wilcher was born on July 7, 1927. The family requests no presents please.

  • Contest winners announced at Old Mill Days

    The following are the winners of the Bradfordsville Old Mill Days children’s contests:
    • Hula Hoop: winner - Phoenix Bowman
    • Jump rope: first place - Phoenix Bowman; second place - Nick Elliott; third - Aubrey Smith; and fourth Brady Beard.
    •Egg Relay: first place team-Brady Beard and Phoenix Bowman; second place team - Nick Elliott and Hunter Williams; third - Brennan Perry and Aubrey Smith; and fourth - Shelbi Smith and Terry Smith.

    Bradfordsville Senior Center is open on Thursdays.

    Monday, June 26: barbecue chicken, macaroni and cheese, green beans, baked apples and raisins, and wheat bun.
    Tuesday, June 27: meatloaf, mashed potatoes, seasoned cabbage, peach crisp, and wheat roll.
    Wednesday, June 28: Mexican lasagna, buttered broccoli, garlic breadstick, and cantaloupe.

  • May receives Employee of the Month award

    Lee May of Lebanon, was selected as “Employee of the Month” for May 2017 at Northpoint Training Center. The medium-security state prison is located in northern Boyle County.
    May began her employment at Northpoint Training Center in June 2016 as a Correctional Officer. May was selected as “Employee of the Month” based on her outstanding job performance. She received a letter of commendation and was assigned a reserved parking space for the month.

  • Biggers and West will marry June 24

     

    Carol Biggers and Louis West announce their forthcoming marriage.
    Biggers is the daughter of the late Vincent E. Biggers Sr. and Dorothy A. Biggers.
    West is the son of Louis Jones and Carolyn West of Louisville.
    The wedding will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at First Baptist Church, 231 N. Depot Street, Lebanon.
