Gardening is often described as a relaxing and beneficial hobby regardless of a person’s age. While time outdoors in the garden can prove calming and enjoyable, there is a dark side to gardening as well. Namely the injuries that may result from various activities.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, emergency rooms in the United States treat more than 400,000 outdoor garden-tool-related injuries each year. Additionally, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand has issued warnings that caution gardeners about hand-related injuries.

Mahala Elaine ‘Lainie’ Mattingly will celebrate her 5th birthday March 31, 2013. She is the daughter of Patrick A. and Amanda Gorin Mattingly. Grandparents are Maurice and Lois Gorin and Pat and Mahala Mattingly. Great-grandparents are Joe and Lib Hamilton, Marvelle Mattingly and the late Snooter Mattingly, the late Frances Robertson and the late Jr. and Hazel Gorin. She has one brother, Brett Mattingly.
 

Jerry and Sandy Abel of Lebanon announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Dawn Krenning, to Robert F. Hayes Jr., son of Robert and Diane Hayes of Lincolnton, N.C.
The bride has a bachelor of arts from Oklahoma State University and is employed at ECTC in Springfield.
Hayes is employed at TG Kentucky.
The wedding is set for 5 p.m. April 13, 2013, at Bradfordsville Baptist Church.
