    Jesse and Sydney Cox of Finley announce the birth of a 9-pound, 7.5-ounce daughter, Allie Marie Cox, born Feb. 6, 2013 at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon.
    Maternal grandparents are Thomas Miller of Gravel Switch and Lottie Miller of Louisiana. Paternal grandparents are Rodger and Betty Cox of Finley. Great-grandparents are Evelyn Burress, Haskell Cox, and Arthur Ozenne.

    Storm water runoff occurs when precipitation hits impervious surfaces, such as roofs, driveways or parking lots. As this water runs off the surface, it takes trash and pollutants with it on its way to local waterways or the sewer system. In many instances, storm water runoff also results in soil erosion.

  • American agriculture is responsible for providing the necessities of every day, food, fiber, and clothing. That’s the message of National Ag Day, which is celebrated March 19, 2013. Marion County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee hopes to use Ag Day as a tool to education school aged children the importance of agriculture in our communities.
    The women’s committee will visit the elementary schools in the county and read the book of the year, “The Guardian Team” and other farm and ag books.

  • The Arbor Day Foundation is making it easier for everyone to celebrate the arrival of spring through planting trees.
    Join the Arbor Day Foundation in March 2013 and receive 10 free white flowering dogwood trees.
    “White flowering dogwoods will add beauty to your home throughout the year,” said John Rosenow, founder and chief executive of the Arbor Day Foundation. “Dogwoods are known for their showy spring flowers, scarlet autumn foliage and red berries that attract songbirds during winter.”

  • Revival
    Tucker Chapel Baptist Church located on Short Line Pike, Lebanon, will have their Spring Revival  at 7 p.m. March 13, 14 and 15. Pastor Bob Brown of New Horizon Missionary Baptist Church of Danvillewill be the guest speaker. The message will be “Grace.”
