Preliminary statistics indicate that three people died in two separate crashes on Kentucky roadways during the New Year’s Eve holiday enforcement period (Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, through Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011). Last year there were five highway fatalities during the same enforcement period.
One crash occurred in Logan County, involving a motor vehicle and the victim was not wearing a seat belt.

A Washington correspondent of the New York World writes: ”It cost the people of the United States about $10,000 a day to support the House of Representatives. A session of the House consumes from three to four hours. Every hour’s work is done at the expense of $2,500. Every minute of the session cost $40.”
