    Ashley Michelle Smith and Robert Jack Gates of Bowling Green were united in marriage at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Maple Hill Manor in Springfield. Lisa Nalley Martin officiated the ceremony.
    The bride is the daughter of Leo and Linda Smith. She is a product marketing specialist at Emdeon.
    The groom’s parents are Victoria Olson and Toby and Donna Gates of Coldwater, Mich. He is an assistant golf professional at Bowling Green Country Club and girls’ golf coach for South Warren High School.

    Madelynn Claire Spalding celebrated her 4th birthday Oct. 15, 2011. She is the daughter of Chris and Crystal Spalding. Grandparents are Billy and Joyce Warner and Cecilia Spalding and the late John A. Spalding, all of Lebanon. Madelynn has one sister, Cheyenne, and one brother, Collin.

  • St. Joe Prep
    St. Joe Prep Alumni Association will have their annual Fall Cook-In Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Bardstown. Social hour starts at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. Meat and drinks will be furnished. Bring a dish for the potluck. Annual meeting will follow dinner.  All undergraduates and friends of St. Joe are welcomed.

    Wednesday, Oct. 26: Chili w/beans, carrot raisin salad, orange, crackers, chocolate pudding.
    Thursday, Oct. 27: Pepper steak, baked sweet potato, green beans, pineapple prune salad, roll.

    Bethanie Diane Pittman, age 14, will participate in the 2011 Miss Teen Kentucky County Fair Pageant in Louisville Oct. 21 and 22. She is the daughter of Jason and Stephanie Pittman of Lebanon and the granddaughter of Sonny and Diane Pittman of Lebanon and Ronald and Estelle Woodrum of Taylor County.

  • The 73rd annual meeting of the Marion County Farm Bureau was called to order by Larry Elder, president, at 7 p.m., Oct. 10, at the Lebanon Masonic Temple.
    Matt Ingram gave the invocation.
    President Elder then recognized special guests, including Senator David Givens, Chris French, Matt Ingram, District Directors Scott Travis and Joe Paul Mattingly, Michelle and Kevin Armstrong, Johnny Wills, Steve Miller from Congressman Brett Guthrie’s office and Larry and Grace Hardin from Washington County.
