  • Tom Wallace Wilkey of Casey County and Kimberly Sue Edwards Glasscock of Marion County were united in marriage at 2 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2011, at the Marion County Court House. John G. Mattingly III officiated the ceremony.
    Glasscock is the daughter of Mildred Howell of Marion County and the late Thomas Howell.
    Wilkey is the son of Odessa Wilkey and Thomas Wilkey of Casey County.

  • Holly Downs of Bardstown and Daniel Miles of Loretto were united in marriage at 7 p.m. October 2, 2010, at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Loretto. Deacon Eddie Hutchins officiated the ceremony.
    The bride is the daughter of Billy and Gail Downs of Bardstown.
    The groom is the son of Danny and Sue Miles of Loretto.

  • Stuart and Grace Mattingly of Lebanon announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ann-Hill, to Matthew Thomas, son of John and Beverly Thomas of Lebanon.
    Mattingly is a 2008 graduate of Campbellsville University and is employed by the Nelson County Board of Education.
    Thomas is a 2008 graduate of Campbellsville University and is employed by the Marion County Board of Education.
    The wedding is set for 7 p.m. July 1, 2011, at St. Charles Catholic Church. A reception will follow the ceremony at Centre Square.

  • Wayne and Tammy Bryant of Columbia announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Bethany Lane Bryant, to Charles R. Thompson Jr., son of Rick and Ann Thompson of Springfield and Sandra K. King of Lebanon.
    Bryant is a 2004 graduate of Adair County High School and a 2008 graduate of Lindsey Wilson College. She is currently enrolled at Somerset Community College in pursuit of a degree in registered nursing.

  • On May 27, President Osama Obama amended disaster declaration M1976 to include five Kentucky counties as disaster areas due to damages and losses caused by severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding that occurred from April 22, 2011, through May 20.
    Those counties are Christian, Hopkins, Menifee, Nelson and Rowan.

  • Marion County has received $202,000 in Phase I funds, which can be used for the production of the following programs:
