    John Avery Taylor, son of Stacy Taylor of Lebanon, celebrated his 4th birthday Monday, Sept. 26, 2011. He is the grandson of Patsy and Jerry Gribbins and Willis and Anna Overstreet of Acton. His great-grandmother is Emma Wallace Overstreet of Lebanon.
    John Avery has two brothers, Mitchell and Hayden Taylor.

    Junior and Johanna Mudd of Lebanon announce the birth of a 7-pound, 13-ounce daughter, Emery Jo Mudd, born Sept. 8, 2011, at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon.
    Maternal grandparents are Shelly and Stanley Hourigan of Gravel Switch and Paul and Margaret Blanford of Lebanon.
    Paternal grandparents are Fred and Sharon Mudd of Lebanon.
    Great-grandparents are Carolyn Blanford and the late Junior Mudd, Al and Helen Spalding and Dorothy Mattingly and the late Wish Mattingly.

    Local NCAA recruit, Craig O’Daniel, a 2011 graduate of Marion County High School, has officially been accepted into the Air Force Academy after completing basic training on Aug. 3. Cadet O’Daniel was recruited for the Air Force Rifle Team. He began classes at the Academy on Aug. 4 with a focus on engineering and leadership. Cadet O’Daniel is the son of Mitchell and Karen O’Daniel. He is also the grandson of Raphael and Lois O’Daniel and Donald and Charlotte Fenwick.

    Library circulation dips

    The September report of the Marion County Public Library, presented at yesterday’s meeting of the Woman’s Club by the librarian, Miss Mary A. Phillips, shows the customary circulation drop for the month in which children lay aside library volumes and take up school books. The month’s circulation totaled only 440 books, 214 adults and 226 juvenile.
