    Billy Owen Allen, 64, Parksville, died Nov. 17, 2007.

    Born March 14, 1943, in Marion County, Allen was a farmer and construction worker.

    He was preceded in death by: his parents, Jim Frank and Oney Myrtle Lanham Allen.

  • Martin Vannie Newton

    Martin Vannie Newton, 77, Manton, died at 11:44 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at Spring View Hospital, Lebanon.

    Born Sept. 3, 1930, at Manton, Newton operated Newton's Grocery in Manton.

    He was preceded in death by: a son, Martin Irvin Newton; father, Joseph Irvin Newton; mother, Thelma Laura Blanford Newton; and two brothers, Joseph Derlin Newton and Thomas B. "Blank" Newton.

  • Viola Christine Fields

    Viola Christine Fields, 75, Raywick, died Nov. 13, 2007, at her residence.

    Born Oct. 25, 1932, Fields was a nurse assistant.

    She was preceded in death by: her husband, John Elbert Fields Jr.; parents, William and Lillie Crawford Payne; a son, Michael John Fields; seven brothers; and six sisters.

    Survivors include: a son, Ricky Fields of Raywick; six daughters, Ann Hunt, Faye Buckler and Jeanette Mattingly, all of Lebanon, Debbie Leake and Brenda Fields, both of Raywick, and Peggy Lee of St. Mary; 22 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

  • Lisa Carol Cox Wiser

    Lisa Carol Cox Wiser, 47, Lebanon, died Friday Nov. 16, 2007, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.

    Wiser was born Oct. 15, 1960, in Taylor County.

    She was preceded in death by: her parents, Ancil and Ruth Virginia Walls Cox.

    Survivors include: two sons, Richard Shane and Cody Allan Wiser, both of Lebanon; five sisters, Anita Land and Gayle Richardson, both of Campbellsville, Marilyn Gribbins and Marie Wiser, both of Lebanon, and Shelia Rogers of Parksville; and one brother, Allan Cox of Campbellsville.

  • Lena Moore

    Lena Moore, 74, Riley Road, Gravel Switch, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

    She was born Aug. 23, 1933, in Marion County and was a housewife.

    She was preceded in death by: her husband, Garnett Moore; parents, Jimmie Lee and Laura Ellen Mann Smothers; one daughter, Linda Moore; two brothers, Buck and James Smothers; and four sisters, Frances Routin, Jenny Lanham, Catherine Mikel and Ruby Sipes.

  • Samuel A. Jones

    Samuel A. Jones, 88, Elizabethtown, died Nov. 9, 2007, at Bluegrass Assisted Living.

    A native of Nolanville, Texas, Jones was a World War II and Korean War Veteran. He served 20 years in the Army and received a Good Conduct Medal with Three Loops, American Defense Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five Bronze Stars, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupational Medal (Germany), National Defense Service Medal and Meritorious Unit Commendation.

  • John A. Fenwick

    John A. "Bert" Fenwick, 87, Loretto, died at 2:40 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at his residence.

    Born March 26, 1920, in Marion County, Fenwick was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He retired from General Electric in Louisville.
