    David Ray Clarkson Jr., 23, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012.
    He was born Jan. 20, 1989.
    He was preceded in death by: his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Clarkson; maternal grandparents, Billy and Betty Lawson; an aunt, Annette Clarkson; an uncle, Ricky Clarkson; and a cousin, Freeman Hubbard.

  • Geneva C. Mattingly Jewell, 73

    Geneva C. Mattingly Jewell, 73, Franklin, Ind., died March 24, 2012, at her home. She was a native of Marion County.
    Survivors include her husband, Eli R. Jewell, and six children, Elizabeth Cooper, Terry Pirtle, James Jewell, Brenda Calhoun, Kimberly Cantwell and Patti Austin, all of Franklin, Ind.
    A funeral service was held on March 27 at Jessen Funeral Home in Whiteland, Ind. Graveside service was held March 28 at Youngs Creek Cemetery in Franklin, Ind.
    Jessen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

    Herman Fisher, 83, Bradfordsville, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Spring View Hospital.
    He was born on July 21, 1928 in Marion County and was a retired farmer.
    He was preceded in death by: his wife, Nannie Elizabeth Simpson Fisher; his parents, George Washington and Emma Alice Garrett Fisher; a son, Lonnie Joseph Fisher; a brother, Orvin Fisher; and four sisters, Allie Devers, Emma Gribbins, Pernie Mays, and Verna Lou Fisher.

  • Joseph B. "Joe" Riggs Sr, 42

    Joseph B. "Joe" Riggs Sr, 42, Cox's Creek, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at his father's home.
    Survivors include: his wife, Kim Fennell Riggs; two sons, Joey Riggs Jr. and David Riggs; two daughters, Tara Fennell and Karin Riggs; his father, David Riggs of Cox's Creek; and his mother, Paula Hildrich of Ironton, Ohio.
    Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with interment to follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Chaplain Doc Father will officiate.

  • Mary Jean Parrott, 68

    Mary Jean Parrott, 68, Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2012 after an illness.
    She was born Dec. 30, 1943 in Marion County.
    She was preceded in death by: Richard and Hattie Bickett Spalding; a son, Richard Edward Parrott; two brothers, Joseph and James Spalding; and a grandson, Roland Lee Parrott Jr.

  • Robert G. "Bob" Nolley, 84

    Robert G. "Bob" Nolley, 84, Louisville, lost a brave fight against cancer on the evening of June 13, 2012.  He was a loving husband, father and devoted friend.
    He was preceded in death by: his wife, Louise Nolley; a son, Gerald Nolley; his parents; two brothers; and a sister.
    Survivors include: three daughters, Brenda Pedigoe, Sharon Borders and Patti Bale; a son, Joseph Nolley; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
    Services were held Saturday, June 16, with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park.

    Russell Paul Veatch, 23, St. Joe, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Flaget Memorial Hospital, Bardstown.
    He was born on Sept. 16, 1988 in Taylor County. Veatch was an employee of Curtis-Maruyasu.

  • Sarah Eudora Walker, 89

    Sarah Eudora Walker, 89, of Colorado Springs, Colo., formerly of Decatur, Ill. passed away April 19, 2012.
    Walker was born June 26, 1922 in Loretto, She was a member of the WAVES during WWII. Walker met William "Red" Walker in Atlanta after he had returned from the reserves. They were married Feb. 23, 1952 in Louisville.
    She was preceded in death by: her parents, Bryan and Bridget Mattingly; a son, Bill Walker; a brother, Ruben Mattingly; and a sister, Benita Lamkin.

    Carl Ray Wiser, 74, died Sunday, June 3, 2012 in Washington County.
    He was born Sept. 14, 1937 in Marion County.
    He was preceded in death by: his parents, John and Gracie Russell Wiser; a daughter, Deborah June Wright; six brothers, Pete, Bill, James Matt, Russell, Coleman and Harry Wiser; three sisters, Loretto Wright, Bessie Belle Clark, and Corine Hudson.
    Survivors include: a son, Eddie Wiser of Junction City; a daughter, Sandy Wiser; two brothers, Arnold B. and Junior Wiser; several grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
