Shania Hallmark wasn’t excited about her first session of Girls on the Run. She was shy and didn’t consider herself a runner. The thought of meeting other girls made her feel anxious. She didn’t know many of them. She certainly didn’t think she would become friends with them. But then the program actually started and it wasn’t like anything she had expected.
“I learned that it wasn’t so much about running, it was more about feelings and emotions,” she said. “I love listening to the talks.”
