• 5K PROM-enade

    The Marion County High School Prom Committee will be hosting a 5K PROM-enade walk/run event at 9 a.m., Saturday, March 24. Pre-registration cost is $15 and continues from now until March 15.     The following Lebanon Elementary School students achieved honor roll status and perfect attendance for the second nine weeks of the 2011-12 school year.
    • First grade: Abby Anzelmo, Ava Ballard, Mackenzie Bartley, Markell Bell, Cheyanne Brady, Timmi Bright, Antonio Douglas, Brooklyn Gaddie, Julieann Gillespie, Livia Goff, Ashton Mattingly,Tori Morgeson, Mary Beth Overstreet, Paige Price, Luke Rogers, Elizabeth Russell, Jack Smothers, Michael See, Aubrey Spalding, Tailya Spalding, and Abby Sullivan.

  • Application deadline for scholarship is March 30

    Inter-County Energy recognizes the importance of educating our young adults today for tomorrow’s leadership roles.
    For that reason, Inter-County Energy will award one, one-thousand-dollar ($1,000) scholarship to a graduating senior from each of the cooperatives six (6) director’s districts.  Those districts are: Lincoln, Garrard, Mercer, Boyle, Casey and Marion counties.
    Students are encouraged to apply if their parent or legal guardian is a member of Inter-County Energy Cooperative with their primary residence being served by the cooperative.

  • Events celebrate Women’s History Month

    St. Catharine College is having several events during the next week to recognize Women’s History Month.
    On March 10-11, Mary, The Eternal Maternal, a dramatic cantata for two voices celebrating the life of the Virgin Mary, will be performed by Teresa Tedder. The first performance will be held March 10 at 8 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church. The second performance will be held March 11 at 3 p.m. at St. Rose Church.

  • Junior Mister is March 24

    Junior Mister will be held at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 24 at the Marion County High School. The show has a super hero theme this year and there are 14 participants. Tickets will be $5 in advance and $7 at the door.


    All proceeds from the event will go to The Make A Wish foundation to grant the wish of a critically ill child.
