• Students encouraged to apply for scholarships

    The Marion County Conservation District encourages any who may qualify to please apply for the Kentucky Association of Conservation Districts Auxiliary Scholarships. They are the George Crafton Scholarship, the Betty Barrick- Non-Traditional Scholarship and the Natural Resources Scholarship.

    Carly Clark is the Ambassador of the Week. She is a junior and the daughter of Tim and Becky Clark. Clark attended Lebanon Elementary School and St. Charles Middle School. As a student ambassador, she enjoys returning to her former schools to teach leadership skills to younger students. A big highlight for her educational experience has been taking art classes that allow her to express herself. She feels that young people need to assume leadership roles because the youth today are the leaders of tomorrow.

    Libby Palagi, the daughter of Kate and Roy Palagi, is a sophomore at Marion County High School.
    She is a former student of St. Augustine.
    In the future, Libby plans to become a physical therapist.
    As a student ambassador, Libby enjoys being able to help people and showing off her school while doing it.
    Becoming an ambassador is a highlight of her time in MCPS. She believes that young people should assume leadership roles because they can then learn how to be amazing leaders themselves.

  • McKee, Ritchie to help students prepare for college

    Brittany McKee and Keith Ritchie will work with Marion County High School students this year to prepare them for college.
    Ritchie was recently named the advisor to the Kentucky College Coaches Program by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA). McKee, a native of Somerset, is the college coach at MCHS.
    “The college coaches program is a great opportunity for students to have a chance at a career that they love and enjoy,” McKee said.
