  • Single-digit temps create several issues for MCPS

    Last week’s single-digit temperatures not only caused school to be cancelled in Marion and surrounding counties, but also contributed to several heating-related issues at multiple Marion County Public Schools.

  • Marion County Board of Education to meet Tuesday, Jan. 14

    The Marion County Board of Education will be having its regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m., tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the administrative office located at 755 E. Main St. in Lebanon. The agenda includes:

    * Consider approval of WHAS Grant application
    * Consider approval of intent to apply for a Read to Achieve Grant for Lebanon Elementary

  • Marion County schools are back in session

    Marion County Schools reopened for classes Jan. 9.

    Marion County Public Schools have been dealing with heating issues at multiple schools, and Calvary Elementary School experienced a water line break during the bitter cold weather earlier this week, according to Superintendent Taylora Schlosser.

  • MCHS starts 2014 with special ed staff overhaul

    The staff of Marion County High School’s Functional Mental Disability (FMD) classroom has been overhauled after parents complained to the administration.

  • No school Wednesday for Marion County schools

    Marion County Public Schools will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 8.

    According to Superintendent Taylora Schlosser, schools will be closed Wednesday because of utility concerns, safety with buses and continued freezing temperatures.
