  • Local students make progress in English, math, reading and science

    Marion County students continue to show significant gains in English, math, reading and science, according to test results released by the Kentucky Department of Education last week.

  • MCHS Academic Team wins district for eighth year

    The Marion County High School Academic Team placed first overall, first in Future Problem Solving and first in the Quick Recall competition at the District Governor’s Cup Competition on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Campbellsville High School.

  • School day or snow day… sometimes it’s a tough call

    Marion County Schools were closed Friday, Feb. 1, because of inclement weather and possible hazardous road conditions. Marion County Superintendent Dr. Chuck Hamilton issued the following statement explaining the decision to close schools today:

  • Lebanon Middle School chili supper still on for tonight

    Lebanon Middle School Beta Club's chili supper is still scheduled for tonight, Feb. 2.

    The LMS Beta Club is hosting a chili supper and talent show at 6 tonight.

    Tickets can be purchased from any Beta member.

    Marion County Schools are closed today, Friday, Feb. 1.

  • Deadline to apply for scholarships is Feb. 27

    The Marion County Conservation District encourages anyone who may qualify to apply for the Kentucky Association of Conservation Districts Auxiliary Scholarships, They are the George Crafton Scholarship, the Betty Barrick - Non-Traditional Scholarship, and the Natural Resources Scholarship.

  • Local students make dean’s list

    Bluegrass Community & Technical College recognizes the following students from Marion County who have achieved dean’s list honors for the 2012 Fall Semester. The college recognizes academic excellence by naming to the dean’s list full-time students who have earned an overall semester grade point average of 3.5 or better in courses numbered 100 or above.
