While there are still many unanswered questions regarding the implementation of a student drug-testing program at Marion County High School, one thing is certain. The high school is going to need more money to make it happen.

The Marion County Heartland Safe Community Coalition has provided $5,000 to be used for student drug testing, but it's likely MCHS will need an additional $5,000, at least.

About a year after its initial search, the Marion County High School Site-Based Decision Making Council has selected Stacey Hall as the school's next principal.

Hall has worked at MCHS for the past five years. He is an assistant principal and the athletics director at the school.

The five members of the site-based council voted unanimously to approve Hall to serve as the principal starting with the 2011-12 academic year. Martha Ann Mattingly recently resigned from the council.

Hall will officially take over as principal on July 1.
