• Preschool, kindergarten registration is Jan. 24

     Marion County Public Schools kindergarten and preschool registration will be held at all elementary schools from noon to 6 p.m., Friday, Jan. 24.

    If school is canceled on this day, registration will be moved to Friday, Jan. 31.

    Registration paperwork will be at the elementary school in the district in which you reside. Children who will be 5 years old on or before Oct. 1, 2014 should register for kindergarten classes. Students who are currently enrolled in the 4-year-old preschool program should also register for kindergarten.

  • University announces academic honors list

    Campbellsville University Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Frank Cheatham has announced the academic honors’ list for the fall 2013 semester.
    The academic honors’ list recognizes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.50 or above for the semester with a course load of at least 12 hours. The fall 2013 academic honors’ list includes a total of 607 students, with 229 named to the president’s list for achieving a 4.0 grade point average, and 378 named to the dean’s list for achieving a 3.5 to 3.99 GPA.

  • Now is the time to fill out FAFSA forms

    Employees in the office of financial aid at St. Catharine College want to remind students that the time to file FAFSA forms for 2014-15 is now. File early for the greatest chance at the maximum amount of federal and state aid available for the upcoming academic year.
    The financial aid office is planning campus workshops in January to help students complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online filing process. Mark your calendars with these important dates to fill out your forms.

  • Bryant inducted into national honor society

    Alexandria D. Bryant of Lebanon is one of 58 Eastern Kentucky University students inducted into the Tau Sigma honor society during a special ceremony in October.
    Tau Sigma is a national honor society that recognizes the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students. Membership is open to first-time transfer students who have earned at least 24 credit hours prior to transferring and who have completed at least 12 semester hours of credit classes toward a degree and earned a minimum 3.5 GPA.

  • LMS to have interim principal

    Marion County Superintendent Taylora Schlosser announced Friday that Marion County High School Assistant Principal Christina McRay will act as an interim principal at Lebanon Middle School for the remainder of the school year.
