Rather than starting from scratch, the Marion County Public Schools Drug Testing Implementation Committee has sought input from other communities that have drug testing in place.

On April 14, Isaac Frye of the Washington County Heartland Coalition, nurse Phyllis Gentry from Nelson County High School, and Adair County High School Principal Troy Young met with the Marion County drug testing committee.

While there are differences in the details, all three said drug testing has been a deterrent for students.

Twenty-three people (18 men and five women) have applied to be Marion County's next superintendent. The screening committee held its first meeting in closed session Thursday to begin reviewing the applications.

On March 17, 15 FFA members traveled to Elizabethtown Community College to compete in the annual Lincoln Trail Region FFA Day.  
This allows students to showcase their skills in a variety of speaking contests and parliamentary procedure.  
As a result of their efforts, two members advanced to state competition at the Kentucky FFA State Convention in Lexington on June 7.
The two members that will advance to state are: Cody Rakes - Crop Impromptu - Superior 1st; Paige Hardin - Dairy Impromptu - Superior 2nd.  

The Nursing Faculty at St. Catharine College are excited to announce that the Associate Degree Nursing Program has been granted initial accreditation from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) through 2015.
This achievement represents a multi-year effort on the part of the Nursing faculty, as well as invaluable contributions from our students, advisory board, and the SCC community.
