The Marion County Public School System is in need of a minority parent to be on the Superintendent Search Screening Committee.

So far, the committee consists of the following individuals:

- Ed Hacker – board representative

- Brad Mattingly – parent representative

- Marilu Farnham - teacher representative (Glasscock Elementary School)

- Hollie Buckman – teacher representative (Lebanon Middle School)

Wilbooks and author Bruce Larkin have sent a donation of 300 books to A.C. Glasscock Elementary School. The books, meant for classroom reading instruction, are the first delivery of the 25,000 books Larkin has pledged to donate to Kentucky schools this year.
Glasscock had previously applied for a donation from Wilbooks, and was one of five schools in Kentucky chosen to kick off the 2011 donation campaign.

The Marion County Board of Education voted 4 to 1 to use the first three days of Spring Break as makeup days during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday evening, Feb. 22.
