  • Lebanon man, woman plead not guilty to hit and run death

    Meagan Medley, 23, and Thomas E. Fleener, 26, both of 3701 Boss Luckett Road in Lebanon, have pleaded not guilty to charges connected to the hit and run death of Landon T. Wheatley, 19, of Springfield.
    Both Medley and Fleener were in Marion Circuit Court Thursday to face charges of tampering with physical evidence and leaving the scene of an accident - failure to render and/or aid assistance.

  • Lebanon man indicted for rape

    Makenzie E. Abell, 20, of 3810 Saint Mary’s Road in Lebanon was indicted for two counts of second-degree rape in Marion Circuit Court on Aug. 28.
    According to the indictment, on or about Jan. 1, 2016 through Jan. 1, 2017, (on two occasions) Abell being 18 years or older, engaged in sexual intercourse with another person less than 14 years old.
    Abell’s bond was set at $5,000, and he was ordered to have no contact with the complaining witness.

  • Former LaRue County High School principal guilty of transporting child pornography

    A former LaRue County High School principal pleaded guilty last week in United States District Court, before U.S. District Judge David J. Hale, to transporting child pornography and possessing child pornography that had been transported in interstate commerce.

  • Campbellsville man sentenced to probation for damaging Scott’s Ridge lookout

    Steven Craig Benningfield of 720 Philpott Road in Campbellsville was found guilty of second-degree criminal mischief after damaging property at the Scott’s Ridge lookout near Raywick. He was arrested on July 29 in Taylor County. He was sentenced to 60 days, probated for 24 months. He was ordered to have no contact with Scott’s Ridge, pay restitution, complete 20 hours of community service and pay $133 in court costs.
