  • Lebanon man gets probation on drug charges

    Richard A. Harrington, 45, of 555 Maple Street Apartments #36 in Lebanon received five years of probation in Marion Circuit Court recently for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance more than 10 dosage unit, first offense (two counts) and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance more than 20 dosage unit, first offense (three counts).

  • Six people die on Kentucky roadways last week

    Preliminary statistics* indicate that six people died as the result of injuries sustained in six motor vehicle-related crashes on Kentucky’s roadways from Monday, Sept. 16 through Sunday, Sept. 22.
    One single-fatality, motor vehicle crash occurred in each of the following counties: Boone, Breathitt, Fayette, Hardin and Laurel. The victim in Hardin County was not wearing a seat belt. The crash in Boone County involved the suspected use of alcohol.
    One single fatality, motorcycle crash occurred in Jefferson County. The victim was not wearing a helmet.

  • Raywick man gets probation for assault

    Michael Gibson, 50, of 209 Broadway in Raywick received 24 months of probation after pleading guilty to fourth-degree assault in Marion Circuit Court recently.
    A charge of third-degree terroristic threatening was dismissed.
    Gibson is a co-defendant with Christopher Gribbins stemming from an incident outside of the Raywick Bar and Grill Nov. 9, 2012.
    Gibson and Gribbins were both indicted for second-degree assault against Phillip J. Franklin of Springfield.
