  • Lebanon man indicted for sex abuse

    Editor’s note: The following indictment includes content not suitable for children.

    Justin D. Downs, 23, of 214 South Proctor Knott Avenue, No. 2, in Lebanon was indicted in two separate indictments for first-degree sexual abuse on May 2 in Marion Circuit Court.
    According to the indictment, the alleged offenses occurred on or about Feb. 19 and April 1.
    A person is guilty of first-degree sexual abuse when:
    - He or she subjects another person to sexual contact by forcible compulsion; or

  • Calhoun to face Taylor County grand jury

    A Lebanon man accused of shooting and killing a woman and seriously injuring another will face a Taylor County grand jury.
    At a preliminary hearing Friday, May 6, Taylor County District Judge Amy Anderson forwarded the William Calhoun case to a grand jury.
    The Campbellsville Police Department arrested Calhoun, 25, of Lebanon, on Saturday, April 30, on charges of murder and first-degree assault.

    April 22
    Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies Ray Gardner and Tony Belcher recovered another stolen trailer. This trailer had been recently reported stolen out of Boyle County and was found at a residence on Old Calvary Road. This investigation continues and the arrest of the persons involved are expected soon.

    Ellis Trimble of Chestnut Street in Lebanon reported a burglary and the theft of an XBOX 360 valued at $300. A window at the residence was also broken out, causing $100 in damage.
