  • Former youth services director receives three-year diversion

    Charles E. Spalding Jr., 43, of 25 C. Ashbury Drive in Bardstown received three years of pretrial diversion for second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor. This was amended from an original charge of first-degree sexual abuse.

     

    As a term of his pretrial diversion, Spalding must serve a 30-day alternate sentence with work release, complete a counseling program approved by the Commonwealth’s Attorney and have no contact with children through his employment.

  • Lake Avenue man indicted for assault and concealed weapons charges

    Dartai Scott, 37, of 309 Lake Avenue in Lebanon was indicted in Marion Circuit Court recently for second-degree assault, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, first-degree promoting contraband, alcohol intoxication in a public place (first and second offense), and first-degree persistent felony offender.

  • Mock Avenue man gets 20 years for burglary

     Eugene H. Owens, 38, of 237 Mock Avenue Apt. 2 in Lebanon was sentenced to 20 years in prison in Marion Circuit Court recently for second-degree burglary, receiving stolen property (firearm), second-degree persistent felony offender, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. 

    That sentence will be served consecutively to his five-year sentence for charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and third-degree burglary, for which his probation was revoked.

     May 25 – The Marion County Board of Education reported that theft by unlawful taking over $500 occurred at 408 St. Rose Road. A Dell laptop computer, valued at $1,000, was reported stolen.
