  • Raywick man recovering from accident on Hwy. 289

    A Raywick man was taken to University Hospital in Louisville following a single-vehicle accident on Hwy. 289 Thursday morning, Nov. 10.
    Brendan Buckman of Raywick was driving a 2000 Chevrolet pickup, which was found overturned in a field on Hwy. 289 near the Jessietown bridge. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at 10:59 a.m. Nov. 10.
    Marion County Rescue extricated Buckman from the vehicle before he was flown to University Hospital by Air Methods. The Lebanon Fire Department and Marion County EMS assisted at the scene.

  • Epps pleads guilty to DUI

    Former Marion County High School boys basketball coach Anthony Epps has pled guilty to a charge of driving under the influence stemming from an arrest June 18.

    Epps, 36, of 337 Long Avenue in Lebanon entered a guilty plea Nov. 7 in Marion District Court. He has been ordered to complete a 90-day alcohol dependency program and he was ordered to pay a $200 fine and $375 service fee. Prior to sentencing he completed a 30-day license suspension, and he has completed a 20-hour DUI education program.

    Reports from the KY State Police
    - A one-vehicle injury accident occurred Friday, Nov 4, at approximately 11:20 p.m. Charles Tungate, 39, of Elk Horn was driving a 1997 Honda motorcycle south on KY 49 two miles north of Bradfordsville. He crossed the centerline, overcorrected and lost control of the motorcycle, before leaving the roadway. Tungate, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to Spring View Hospital where he was treated and released. Tungate then was lodged in Marion County Detention Center, charged with driving under the influence.

    Reports from the Lebanon Police Department
    - On Oct. 11, Emily Summers of Lee Avenue in Lebanon reported the fraudulent use of her credit card in the amount of $566.16.
    - On Oct. 22, Sylvia Camp of Woodlawn Avenue in Lebanon reported damage to her 2005 Chrysler in the amount of $650.
    - On Oct. 24, Sally Holloran of Forest Street in Lebanon reported a burglary at her home.
    - On Oct. 24, Wal-Mart reported that $755.75 worth of merchandise that was stolen was recovered.

  • Louisville man indicted on multiple sex charges

    Christopher A. Sutherland, 21, of 1732 Sonne Avenue in Louisville was indicted in Marion Circuit Court recently for 10 counts of third-degree rape, 10 counts of third-degree sodomy, 10 counts of first-degree sexual abuse and second-degree persistent felony offender.

  • Lebanon man pleads guilty to reckless homicide

    Phillip R. Johnson, 29, of 6345 W. Main Street, Apt. 10, in Lebanon pled guilty to reckless homicide and two counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance in Marion Circuit Court recently.

    Johnson faced an original charge of first-degree manslaughter related to the death of Jessica Monday on March 9, 2010.

    His sentencing has been scheduled for Jan. 5.
