  • Parrish Street man sentenced on drug trafficking charges

    Dillis Berryman III, 34, of 29 Parrish Street in Lebanon was ordered to serve the balance of his five-year sentence in Marion Circuit Court recently for underlying charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 yards of a school.
    Berryman was found in violation of his probation because he failed a drug test.

  • 4-3-13 Police Log

    March 23
    – Nathan S. Roller reported second-degree burglary between March 21 and 23 at 456 Elm Street in Lebanon. He reported three Husqvarna chain saws, with a combined valued of $410, were stolen.

    March 25
    – VFW Post 5910 reported that third-degree burglary occurred at 111 Veterans Drive. The VFW reported $540 in cash had been stolen.

  • Two cited for social host violations

    The first two citations have been issued * under a social host ordinance that has been in effect since 2008.
    The Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrested Adrienne and Candace Tucker, both 19, of Campbellsville for violations of the social host ordinance. They were arrested after the sheriff’s office received a complaint of underage drinking at 2:22 a.m. March 17, at 511 St. Matthew’s Cemetery Road, approximately nine miles southwest of Lebanon.
    The Tuckers were arrested for social host violations because they reside at that property.

  • St. Charles Middle School vandals caught

    The persons responsible for vandalizing the St. Charles Middle School concession stand pled guilty in Marion Circuit Court recently.
    Joseph Devon Ballard, 18, of 575 Head Distillery Road in Raywick and a juvenile pled guilty to first-degree criminal trespassing and second-degree criminal mischief.
    In February, Ballard and the juvenile broke windows and damaged items inside the concession stand behind the school.

  • Fairground Road man facing burglary charge

    Bradley G. Shuck, 45, of 3600 Fairground Road in Lebanon was indicted for second-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking under $10,000, and first-degree persistent felony offender in Marion Circuit Court recently.
    According to the indictment, on or about Feb. 12, Shuck entered and remained in a dwelling with intent to commit a crime, or he aided, abetted or counseled with another in said act. The indicted also reads the he took or exercised control over movable property of another valued at more than $500 but less than $10,000.

  • Lebanon man gets 10 years after violating probation

    Deandre Douglas, 20, of 371 S. Harrison Street in Lebanon was sentenced to 10 years in prison recently in Marion Circuit Court when his probation was revoked on a charge of third-degree assault.
    Douglas violated his probation by committing new crimes. He pled guilty to charges of first-degree promoting contraband, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (less than four grams of cocaine) and first-degree bail-jumping.
    His sentencing on those charges has been scheduled for April 25.

  • Employee’s lawsuit against school board dismissed

    A lawsuit filed against the Marion County Board of Education almost three and half years ago was dismissed March 7 by Marion Circuit Judge Dan Kelly.
    The original complaint was filed in August of 2009 by Martha Spalding, a district employee. According to her complaint, Spalding started working for Marion County schools in 2000, noting that she was “duly certified” by the Education Professional Standards Board.
