Preliminary statistics indicate that seven people died in seven separate crashes on Kentucky roadways from Monday, Apr. 25, through Sunday, May 1, 2011.
All of the fatalities involved motor vehicles and two of the victims were not wearing seat belts. Single-fatality crashes occurred in Calloway, Carroll, Jefferson (2), Meade, Montgomery, and Pike counties. Alcohol was a factor in the Jefferson, Meade and Montgomery county crashes.
