  • Three die on state roads

    Preliminary statistics indicate that three people died in three separate crashes on Kentucky’s roadways from Monday, March 28, through Sunday, April 3, 2011.
    All three of the victims were traveling in motor vehicles. One was not wearing a seat belt. None of the fatalities were the result of a crash involving alcohol.
    Single-fatality crashes occurred in Calloway, Fayette and Jefferson counties.

  • Loretto man ordered to stay out of LaRue County

    A traffic stop last June has resulted in one man being sentenced to six years and another ordered to stay out of LaRue County.
    LaRue County Deputy Russell McCoy said the driver, William Howard Thompson, 54, of Loretto was driving erratically that day when he pulled him over.
    A search of the vehicle turned up drugs and a firearm.
    Thompson and his passenger, Jason R. Davis, 33, of Magnolia, implicated each other in the discovery.

    Friday, March 18
    - Mary A. Mattingly of College Street in Lebanon reported a case of criminal mischief after the air was let out of one of the tires on her 2001 Saturn.
    - Diann Smothers of College Street in Lebanon reported a case of criminal mischief after the air was let out of two tires on her 2002 Chrysler and the hood was damaged, causing $620 in damage.

    Thursday, March 24
    - Lacky Peavy of Kelly Way in Lebanon reported a case of theft by unlawful taking after $1,000 in cash was stolen, along with two sports rings worth $2,000.

    Friday, March 18
    - Leonora Gonzales of Warren Acres in Lebanon reported a burglary and $2,000 worth of damage to her residence,
    - Joey Greer of College Street in Lebanon reported a case of criminal mischief after the air was let out of a tire on his vehicle.
    - Joey Edwards of College Street in Lebanon reported a case of criminal mischief after the air was let out of a tire on his 1995 Ford pickup and his 2001 Ford pickup. The liner of his swimming pool was also damaged. Total amount of damage: $520.

  • Lebanon man gets one year for drug possession

    Dills Berryman III, 32, of 85 Radio Station Road in Lebanon was sentenced to one year for first-degree possession of a controlled substance first offense. He received credit for 63 days served.

  • Lebanon man facing drug trafficking charge

    William C. Stumph, 24, of 630 Chadley Avenue in Lebanon was indicted for first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
    According to the indictment, on or about Oct. 7, 2010, Stumph knowingly and unlawfully trafficked in a controlled substance classified in Schedule I or II, which is a narcotic drug, or he aided, abetted or counseled with another in said act.
    His bond was set at $15,000 with the condition that he use no drugs or alcohol.

  • Four die on Kentucky roadways this week

    Preliminary statistics indicate that four people died in four separate crashes on Kentucky roadways from Monday, March 21, through Sunday, March 27, 2011.
    Two of the fatalities involved motor vehicles and neither victim was wearing a seat belt. Single-fatality crashes occurred in Grant and Warren counties.
    One ATV involved fatality occurred in Taylor County and the victim was not wearing a helmet. One pedestrian involved crash occurred in Green County.
