Preliminary statistics indicate that 12 people died in 12 separate crashes on Kentucky roadways from Monday, April 4, through Sunday, April 10, 2011.
Eight of the fatalities involved motor vehicles and four of the victims were not wearing a seat belt. Single-fatality crashes occurred in Adair, Ballard, Barren, Calloway, Floyd, Lewis, Rowan and Taylor counties. The crash in Rowan County involved the suspected use of alcohol.
One ATV involved fatality occurred in Greenup County and the victim was not wearing a helmet.
