  • Police log, Feb. 18

    Feb. 1 - Eddie Deep reported theft by unlawful taking over $500 occurred Nov. 2 at 430 N. Spalding Avenue in Lebanon. Stolen items included an Ed Brown model Damara bolt-action rifle with black stock and black Leupold scope, a CA model 527 bolt-action rifle with a walnut stock and black Leupold scope, and a pair of black Zeiss binoculars. The combined value of the stolen items was $6,620.

    The binoculars, valued at $875, were recovered by the Kentucky State Police in Washington County on Feb. 1.

  • Howard Avenue man indicted for drug possession

    Nicholas J. Gorczyca, 26, of No. 8 Howard Avenue in Lebanon was indicted in Marion Circuit Court for first-degree possession of a controlled substance first offense and resisting arrest.
    According to the indictment, on or about Dec. 19, 2014, Gorczyca possessed a Schedule I or II narcotic drug, or he aided, abetted or counseled with another in said act. His bond was set at 10 percent of $20,000 with the conditions that he uses no drugs or alcohol and that he has a curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  • Lebanon man flees from police in Taylor County

    A Lebanon man is behind bars after attempting to flee the scene of a domestic call.
    Diaz Douglas, 25, of Lebanon, was taken into custody at approximately 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
    Deputy Mark Dickens responded to a domestic call at the intersection of Fairview and Friendship Pike, according to a release from the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office. When Dickens arrived, Douglas fled the scene on foot. He was apprehended by sheriff’s deputies moments later on Friendship Pike.
