  • Lebanon man indicted for attempted murder

    James C. Smith, 51, of 3450 Hwy 208 in Lebanon was indicted for criminal attempt to commit murder and fourth-degree assault in Marion Circuit Court recently.

    According to the indictment, on or about Dec. 10, 2011, Smith attempted to cause the death of another person. The indictment also reads that he intentionally or wantonly caused physical injury to another person.

    His bond was set at $10,000 cash with the condition that he have a GPS tracking device and no contact with the victim.

    Reports from the Lebanon Police Department
    - On Dec. 14, Kim Holgate of Lebanon reported harassing communications while at Ovations Salon.
    - On Dec. 17, William T. Luster of West Walnut Street in Lebanon reported a burglary and the theft of a laptop computer, Xbox 360 game console with two controllers and one game. Total of stolen items is an estimated $700. Luster also reported minor damage to the door of his residence.

    Reports from the Lebanon Police Department
    - On Nov. 23, a 13-year-old black male at Lebanon Middle School was cited for second-degree terroristic threatening. The victim was a 14-year-old white male.
    - On Nov. 24, Andrea Gribbins of Medlock Road in Lebanon reported a case of criminal mischief. The windshield of her 2001 Chevrolet Impala, which was parked in Little Four Liquors parking lot, was broken, causing $200 in damage.
