  • St. Francis man gets 10 years on drug charge

    Russell McCauley, 46, of 1255 St. Francis Raywick Road Trailer No. 3 in St. Francis was sentenced to 10 years in prison in Marion Circuit Court recently after his probation was revoked on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and first-degree persistent felony offender.

  • Finley man facing federal marijuana charges

    A Marion County man is facing federal charges for growing marijuana.
    Eric M. Thomas was indicted Nov. 6 in the United States District Court, Western District of Kentucky in Louisville. He has been charged with knowingly and intentionally possessing marijuana with intent to distribute 100 or more marijuana plants, which are considered a Schedule I controlled substance. He has also been charged with knowingly using and maintaining premises for the purpose of manufacturing, storing, distributing and using controlled substances (marijuana).

  • Lebanon woman files civil suit against doctor

    A Marion County woman has filed a civil lawsuit accusing a doctor of negligence. The doctor had denied the allegations.
    Mary Smith of 5360 Bradfordsville Road in Lebanon filed her complaint Oct. 16 in Marion Circuit Court against Dr. P.J. Persson.
    According to the complaint, Smith received medical care from Persson on or about Oct. 4, and Persson injured Smith because of “acts of commission and/or omission.”
    Smith has accused Persson of negligence, and argued that she has incurred medical, surgical and hospitalization expenses as a result.

  • Woodlawn resident gets 10 years

    Timothy R. Buckler, 49, of 352 S. Woodlawn Avenue in Lebanon had his probation revoked in Marion Circuit Court recently on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (three counts), and possession of drug paraphernalia second offense. He was ordered to serve 10 years in prison.
