  • Louisville man is indicted for sex abuse

    William Hemphill, 69, of 946 McKinley Avenue in Louisville was indicted for four counts of first-degree sex abuse in Marion Circuit Court recently.
    According to the indictment, between January 2009 and Nov. 23, 2011, Hemphill subjected another person to sexual contact by forcible compulsion on at least four occasions.
    His bond was set at 10 percent of $15,000 with the condition that he has no contact with the complaining witness or the witness’s family.

  • Montgomery County man gets one year for wanton endangerment

    Thomas D. Jacobs, 42, of 130 Montgomery Court in Lebanon was sentenced to one year in jail for first-degree wanton endangerment (police officer), theft by unlawful taking, operating on a DUI suspended license, resisting arrest, speeding and disregarding a stop sign. His sentence will be imposed consecutive to sentences in previous cases.
    Charges of DUI first offense, first-degree fleeing and evading, receiving stolen property under $10,000, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving and first-degree persistent felony offender were dismissed.

    Dec. 1 – Travis Lee Wilkins of Commercial Avenue in Springfield reported fourth-degree assault on N. Proctor Knott Avenue in Lebanon. Wilkins received a minor injury and no medical attention was needed.
